Minimal CV Template (UK, 2026)
Maximum whitespace, elegant thin dividers
Minimal layout
Best for: Designers & architects
Family: Modern
Exports as: Classic PDF (single-column, ATS-parseable)
When the Minimal template fits
Choose Minimal when restraint signals competence in your field and when your experience is strong enough to carry a sparse page. Designers, architects and senior specialists use it well. It is the wrong choice if you need to cover a dense history or a lot of qualifications, where Corporate or Classic give you the room.
How it is structured
- A quiet header: name, role and contact details, nothing more.
- A short personal statement with room around it.
- Selected experience with a few high-signal bullets per role rather than a full list.
- Thin dividers instead of boxes or shading to separate sections.
Will it pass an ATS?
Whitespace is invisible to a parser, so a minimal CV is easy to read as long as the dividers are visual lines and not table borders. Vouch exports Minimal through the Classic PDF layout, keeping the sparse look on screen and clean single-column text in the file.
Making it work
Minimalism is an editing discipline, not a content shortage. Every line has to earn its whitespace, so cut generic bullets entirely and keep only the results that would make a hiring manager stop. A sparse CV with weak lines just looks empty.
Build a Minimal CV without starting from a blank page
Vouch interviews you about your experience, then writes each section in your own words and lays it out in the Minimal design. It never invents anything you did not say, and it exports a clean, single-column PDF an ATS can read.

Does a minimal CV look like I have too little experience?
Only if the content is thin. Minimalism works when a few strong, specific lines carry the page. If you find yourself with lots of white space and little to say, you need more evidence, not a different template.
How much whitespace is too much?
When a reader has to hunt for the next section, it is too much. Keep the space generous but the reading path obvious: consistent spacing, clear section starts, and thin dividers that guide the eye down the page.
